Each charger is specifically configured for the battery voltage of the corresponding Arctic Leopard model and equipped with the original Arctic Leopard connector.

⚠️ Beware of 86V Chargers Supplied with some 72V Arctic Leopard Models

Some Arctic Leopard electric motorcycles equipped with a 72V 20S configuration lithium-ion battery may be delivered with a charger advertised as 86V. We particularly draw attention to this point: for a conventional 20S lithium-ion battery using cells designed for a maximum charge of 4.20V per cell, the full charge voltage corresponds to 84.0V.

We have observed on some of these chargers a final charge voltage that can reach approximately 88.2V. Such a voltage corresponds to about 4.41V per cell on a 20S battery, which is higher than the usual maximum voltage of 4.20V per cell of a classic 20S lithium-ion battery.

In this configuration, repeated use of too high a charging voltage can lead to abnormal stress on the cells, an increase in their temperature, accelerated degradation of the battery, and a reduction in its lifespan. Significant overvoltage can also, depending on the exact characteristics of the cells and the BMS protections, pose a safety risk.

Therefore, for a standard 72V 20S lithium-ion battery, we prefer a final charge voltage properly regulated at 84V, corresponding to 4.20V per cell. This voltage allows for a full charge while remaining within the operating range intended for 4.20V lithium-ion cells.

Important: the charging voltage must always correspond to the chemistry and exact specifications of the cells used by the battery. Before replacing an Arctic Leopard charger with a different output voltage, it is recommended to check the characteristics of the battery and the BMS.

⚡ Arctic Leopard EXE 800 & EXE 880 Chargers – 90V Battery

The Arctic Leopard EXE 800 and EXE 880 use a 90V battery architecture requiring a maximum charging voltage of 100.8V.
