Can we put a fast charger on Kukirin electric scooters?

Can you put a fast charger on KuKirin scooters?

Yes. A properly sized 5A fast charger will not damage the battery of the KuKirin G2, G2 Pro and G2 Master , provided the correct charging voltage is used and the correct connector is used. We have carried out thermal tests (cables + connectors): no abnormal overheating was observed at 5A.

🔌 Charging voltages to be respected

  • KuKirin G2 Master → 52V battery → charge to 58.8V (58.8V charger).
  • KuKirin G2 / G2 Pro → 48V battery → charge to 54.6V (54.6V charger).

🧪 Our hardware findings (wiring, fuse, connectors)

  • G2 Master (52 V) : presence of a 5A fuse on the load line and thick cable section → sized for 5A without heating.
  • G2 / G2 Pro (48 V) : no dedicated charging fuse, but cables are sufficiently sized for 5 A. Our tests showed no abnormal hot spots at the connectors ( DC jack type / KuKirin proprietary port depending on version).

📈 What is the C-rate?

The C-rate expresses the charging intensity in relation to the battery capacity:

  • 0.25C = a current equal to 25% of the capacity. Example: 20 Ah battery → 0.25C = 5 A.
  • 0.5C = a current equal to 50% of the capacity. Example: 15 Ah battery → 0.5C = 7.5 A.

On the targeted KuKirin batteries:

  • G2 Master (52 V 20.8 Ah) : 5 A ≈ 0.24C → operation without noticeable heating .
  • G2 / G2 Pro (48 V 15 Ah) : 5 A ≈ 0.33C → slight heating possible, within tolerances without impact on lifespan.

In practice, 0.25C does not heat up, and 0.5C only causes a slight rise in temperature which does not affect longevity if the battery and the BMS are healthy.

ℹ️ And for the other KuKirin?

For other models in the KuKirin / Kugoo range, it is best to contact us via the form to check compatibility with a fast charger. Indeed:

  • 🔒 Some older models are restricted at the BMS level and refuse to charge beyond 2A or 3A.
  • ✅ On recent versions, 90% are not restricted and accept 5A without problem.

👉 Before purchasing, please send us a photo of your connector and the exact references of your model for confirmation.

❓ FAQ – KuKirin Fast Chargers

Is 5A dangerous for my KuKirin?

No. At 0.24–0.33C depending on the model, we remain within a safe range for the cells and the BMS. Our tests have not shown any abnormal overheating of the cables/connectors and cells.

What happens if I take the wrong blood pressure?

A 54.6V charger is for 48V batteries (G2/G2 Pro). A 58.8V charger is for 52V batteries (G2 Master). Do not cross-connect voltages.

Does the connector support 5A?

Yes. The KuKirin charging ports (DC jack / proprietary) and the cable section of the G2, G2 Pro, G2 Master can handle 5A without overheating.

Why does KuKirin deliver a 2A charger if 5A is fine?

2A is universal and economical. 5A is a convenience to significantly reduce charging time, without compromising safety if the charger is ventilated and certified .
